Is Missed Periods After Stopping Primolut N Indicative Of Pregnancy?

Hi Doc. My wife took Primolut n for about 12 days as we were travelling on a religious trip and she could not afford periods during the time, during which we had protected sex multiple times. However, its been 4 days since she has stopped the medicine, however, her periods has not yet started. Only occasional spotting is there, and that too has stopped. What should we do? Is it a case of possible pregnancy?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Missed periods after stopping Primolut-N can be indicative of pregnancy. However, as you had protected sex, chances of pregnancy should be very very less. If you encountered any condom break or had unprotected sex then pregnancy might be there.

Missed periods should be linked to some hormonal disturbance, which could occur after taking Primolut for a long duration. I think you should wait, your periods will start soon.

If your periods doesn't come even after 10 days of stopping Primolut, you should do a pregnancy test in that case.

Refer to a gynecologist.
