Is Lung Transplantation Possible?

Hi, My aunty is suffering from Lungs problem. When consulting with doctors and came to know lungs was destroyed. Currently ventilator has been setup and treatment is in progress. Do we have a option for Lungs transplant operatrion . Please suggest where it can be possible.

Thank you for your question on HCM. As you already said that your aunt has been put on ventilator, at present lung transplant is not in option. Priority is to wean her from ventilator and stabilize her first. Once she is stable, you can enroll her name for lung transplant. USA have good transplant unit. But it is very risky procedure and outcomes are not much favourable. Consult pulmonologist and transplant surgeon first.
