Is Leukemia Related With Abnormal WBC And Lymphocytes?

For the past 3 to 3 1/2 years, I have had abnormal blood tests. My red blood cell count is normal however both my white cell count is abnormal as well as my lymphocytes. My lymphocytes are very high at 60%. I m very scared that this may be leukemia. Do I have anything to worry about?

Welcome to HCM.
Dear friend , no need to worry. Increased count can be associated with other causes.Only lymphocytes 60 % is not criteria for leukemia. You should ask to your doctor for peripheral blood film. This will very helpful to diagnose your disease.
Hope you will live your normal life.

Hematologist Dr. Hardik Sanghvi's  Response
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
There are many causes for high lymphocytes count and high WBC count other then leukemia. even simple viral infection can leads to high lymphocytes count. So no need to worry about leukemia. you should go for peripheral smear examination. It will give you exact diagnosis. If needed go for flow cytometry test to confirm. then you should take treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question, if you have any doubts then contact me at bit.ly/Drsanghvihardik, I will be happy to answer you.
