Is Leg Blisters With Stinging While Having Diabetes Serious?
My non insulin diabetic spouse was in the hospital last June with chf. Has been ok. He seems to be developing leg blisters. One was huge approx 10cm and filled with a large amount of fluid. The blister broke and hw had a wound at least stage 2. I have been cleaning it with saline and apply abt ointment and covering it. It has been over a week and it does appear to be getting smaller. My concern is that he complains of stinging to the site. He is taking lasix 40 mg twice a day. Is the stinging a warning ?

Dear sir I can understand your concern.i my opinion the problem is called as Diabetic bulla.usually they will be seen in uncontrolled diabetes and during excessive pressure due to ambulatory conditions.
they are treated by antibiotics and better Controll of diabetes.
In my opinion the sting and little itchiness around the lesion will happen when the wound is healing.its advisable to do dressing daily and check for your fasting blood sugar and HbA1c to evaluate your diabetes.
