Is Leakage After Undergoing Lung Cancer Surgery Something Serious?

MY HUSBAND JUST HAD LUNG CANCER SURGERY ONE WEEK AGO AND HE IS IN ICU.HE HAS A LEAKAGE AND NOW AIR POCKETS..SWELLING ON LEFT SIDE NOW HAS MOVED TO RIGHT SIDE OF FACE SWELLING SO BAD THAT HIS RIGHT EYE IS COMPLETELY SHUT CAN NOT SEE.What does this mean?very worried

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Coming back to your Query, as you are saying that your husband has leakage and air pockets,I think what you are referring is for Pneumothorax and Swelling of Left and right side and around eyes seems to be a Subcutaneous emphysema which does not have any health consequences but just cause swelling of the skin over chest and face. This is mainly because of the air leak from the thorax causing subcutaneous emphysema. this would resolve when the underlying cause for airleak has been resolved in thorax.
