Is Jaw Breakage Possible During Placement Of Titanium Plate?

My oral surgeon is saying I have to have my wisdom tooth pulled plus 3 others in my lower left jaw do to bone loss and have to sign to have permission to have a titanium plate put in if in the operation my jaw breaks. Is thus true. Waiting for the biopsy results from the tumor/ mass in that area. I am 74 year old woman

Hello thank you for writing us here.
Yes it is possible that the tumor has spread to the bone and some part have to be removed if necessary. But it's not always necessary that it would invade the bone as well depending on the type of tumor. Its just so doctor is on safer side and can take safety measures so they take concsent in advance IF they had to remove some part of your bone as well.
