Is It To Be Concerned About The Pain When Urinating After Cystoscopy?

hello, I had a cystoscopy on thursday, 07.28.2011. Doctor detected duplication of left ureter. One of these two ureters that drained 10% of the kidney was blocked and full of liquid. He made a bigger hole in that ureter and liquid was gone. I was recovering after the cystocopy last past three days. I experienced pain and burning when i urinate. I am taking oxybutinin, phenazopyridine and ibuprofen. Third day after the cystoscopy i stop having pain when I urinate, but i have pain and itching through my uretra and bladder after urination and when I walk. I see many whitish particles in my urine. Is this alarming? Could you please advise me how tho get back in normal life? can I ignore these sympoms and pain and go back to work? what of the food I should avoid to eat in order to stabilize the bladder function? thank you very much

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Indicates presence of urinary infection, cannot ignore at all. Get a urine microscopy, urine culture, and serum creatinine report done. Plenty of liquids need to be consumed through the day, avoid all oily, spicy, non-vegetarian, junk foods, beverages, consume more nutritious diet with organic citrus fruits and cranberry sachet once daily in a drinking glass of water, remain ambulatory with regular walking, exercises, yoga to get back early to the work, avoid smoking/alcohol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
