Hi, I have type one diabetes and i am to take 6 units of Nonalog at bedtime with my snack and 14 units of Levimere, tonight I think i may have accidentally injected myself with novalog twice, instead of levimere once and novalog once, what would be the best thing to do?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir
I can understand your concern
I would like to explain you about biological profile of both the insulin which is a very important things to be known by you as diabetic
the injection levimer is a long acting insulin it will work for 24 hours this insulin is mild one and also called as basal insulin.
the injection novolog or Humolog is a ultra short acting insulin which works only for 3 to 4 hours and provide you insulin to lower post meal increase in blood sugar
so if you take novolog more you might Land in low sugars after meal and by skipping levimer your fasting blood sugars will shoot up
hope you understand
