Is It To Be Concerned About Bleeding In Child Ear?

months ago, while i was cleaning my 4 year old daughter s ear, i accidentally inserted the cotton buds farther so her ear bled. i brought her to a doctor and the doctor said it was ok since its just the outer ear that has been affected. the bleeding went away after a week. just now, my daughter played the cotton buds and inserted into the same ear and blood coming out from her ear. after a while after cleaning the blood and when she s calm already, i asked if she s feeling any pain or any strange in her ear, she said none. should I worry? when she laid down with her affected ear on the bed, it continued to bleed but she s not feeling any pain..what s the best position for her to sleep on?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi

Welcome to the HCM

I would recommend her to sleep on the same side lateral position. In case of persistent bleed, visit an ENT specialist to rule out any significant injury or vascular abnormality. Also check for bleeding tendency.

Hopefully this will help her.

Take care
