Is It Sufficient To Take Cough Syrup With Sudafed For Cough With Yellow Mucus?

For the last week I've been coughing up yellow mucus and having really thick yellow snot, it's making me so tired, I've spoken to doctor the last 3 days but they can't see me out side work hours, I've asked what I can do to help myself get better they said if it gets worse go to A&E. I'm taking sudafed decongestant, paracetamol and cough syrup what else can I do?

I am so sorry to hear about this cough and the tiredness. With the thick and yellow mucus, there is a possibility of a bacteria infection that may require antibiotics for treatment. Unfortunately, antibiotics can only be dispensed by your doctor. Do you have any fever? breathing difficulties? chest pain? Most of these infections would go away without antibiotics but some do require them.If i were your treating doctor, am pretty sure I would have strongly consider getting you on antibiotics for this.
