Is It Safe To Use Lubricants During Intercourse?

We are married since last 2.5 years, we would like to have baby. We do intercourse twice a week. While intercouse my wife feels pain, q: is it safe to use KY jelly to become pregnant, is it safe to use Ghee as a lubricant. We use standard lying down position wife down. I fully put my penis in her vagina but most of the sperm comes out when I take out my pennis. Is this normal? Can you please suggest best things to become pregnant as soon as possible.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Spending more time in foreplay makes the vagina more moist and your wife will not have pain. So try doing this. Natural ways are always the best. Make sure that she is not stressed with other things in life.

KY jelly is not sperm friendly. So do not use it. There is no evidence regarding the effect of ghee on sperms. If at all you wish to use lubricants, use Pre-seed, Conceive plus or Yes baby. They are found to be safe for sperms.

Apart from the semen flows back after intercourse. This is normal. Don’t worry about it.

It would have been nice if you had provided me some more information like your wife’s age, BMI, regularity of cycles, etc.

First, do a bit of homework and find out who is the good infertility specialist in your area and register for treatment. Do baseline hormone tests and HSG for fallopian tube patency for your wife. Get your semen analysis done. Based on the results of these investigations further treatment can be planned.
To increase your chances of conception maintain normal BMI, quit smoking (if you're a smoker), and have intercourse at least 3 to four times in a week.
Give a tablet of folic acid daily to your wife.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

If you are trying since 1 year and not getting pregnant then please you need a gynecologist consultation and examination.

Use of KY jelly is absolutely safe to use. Don't use ghee as a lubricant.
Please plan intercourse in the fertile period.
