General & Family Physician Dr. Jitender Chauhan's  Response
Hello, welcome to healthcaremagic. While some medications are considered safe to take during pregnancy, the effects of other medications on your unborn baby are unknown. Therefore, it is very important to pay special attention to medications you take while you are pregnant, especially during the first trimester, a crucial time of development for your baby. Therefore I need to know the drug which was prescribed to you by your doctor. For eg. benadryl cough syrup is considered safe during pregnancy whereas corex syrups's effects are not known in pregnancy so is avoided if possible. Wish you good health.
