Is It Safe To Use Novelon For 22 Days To Postpone Periods With PCOD Problem ?

Hi, I have PCOD problem - my period date may come on the same day as that of marriage which is nearing soon and I want to postpone by periods. I consulted a doctor and she advised to have Novelon for 22days starting from 28th Jan 2014. I am afraid will it have any harmful effect or side effects on my health due to the same.

Please help me with your opinions and views

as per your gynecologist novelon is right drug to postpone the period .NOVELON contains a combination of of female hormones desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol, they prevent ovulation. The drug changes condition of cervical mucus and uterine lining and hampers movement of sperm cells to the uterus and attachment of a fertilized egg to the uterus. NOVELON is used as a contraception formulation as well as regularize the menstruation . 21 days continous and break of 7 days . in this period you will have menstruation period .
