Is It Safe To Undergo Tonsillectomy For Cyst In Right Tonsil?
Hi.. I have a cyst on my right tonsil. I have consulted two ENT specialist in Bangalore. One of them, whom I have consulted several times, suggested me for cyst excision. However, another doctor (ENT), whom I went for a second opinion, suggested for tonsillectomy. May I know is not it alright to undergo cyst excision only?For information I am 26 years old and get frequent fever because of this throat issue.

It is fine to just have the cyst removed. Some doctors do not like to remove the tonsils unless it is absolutely necessary because they play a part in helping your immune system.
