Is It Safe To Take Susten VT For Severe Vomiting And Heart?

Hi, I am in the 3rd month of pregnancy. My doc has prescribed Susten VT 200mg, twice a day. However, if I take about 3 tablets over 1-1/2 days( day, night, next day), I get severe vomiting sensation/ severe heart burn. As a result I skip taking one tablet (next night say). Then I continue as usual. If burning sensation gets severe again, I skip a tablet. I hope this is ok to do!

Hi,
I understand your concern.
* Sustain VT 200mg is a hormonal preparation & is given to supplement hormone & avoid abortion. So I wont advice skipping a dose of sustain, specially when you are running 3rd month( which carries more risk of abortion)
* The heart burn & nausea you have suggests acidity-probably caused by taking night pill on an empty stomach.
This can be managed by taking the pill with a glass of milk/ snacks of bland taste.Or taking a pill of Ranitidine along with the night dose.
* some times high dose of oral hormones can lead to nausea- In that you can take the medicine in injectable form. Consult your treating doctor for it.
Thanks.
