Is It Safe To Take Double Dose Of Doxylamine Succinate To Induce Sleep?

My Dr has prescribed two melds to help me sleep. The first one was Buspar 30 mg; it didn t work. Then Lamictal 25 mg. no luck. I have started taking Doxylamine succinctness, 2 tablets nightly. It works better than the prescriptions prescribed. Is the double dose safe?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

First, inform your doctor about it. Suffering side effects while self-prescribing can result in some serious complications, and if your doctor was not in on it, then no one will take responsibility for it and only you will suffer.

Next, start off with 1 tablet and see if it helps, only if it doesnt then consider the double dose, but again, only after informing your doctor.

Best wishes.
