Is It Safe To Take Aspirin During Pregnancy?

hi...am 8 weeks pregnant and during my regular check ups my Blood pressure was normal...except the last routine check up where it was 140/90. i was suggested to take Asprin and continue it for 9 months till my delivery. is it really recommended? am a little scared to take any medicines. please suggest.

Aspirin is given in patients with high risk of developing Pregnancy Induced Hypertension and growth retarded fetus.
It is safe in pregnancy and has no adverse effects on pregnancy.
