Hello Yaya,

Thank you for using Health Care Magic and congratulation on your pregnancy. I read your query and I understand your concern.

My recommendations are to take in consideration healthy foods, but it's important also to take a prenatal vitamin to help cover any nutritional gaps in your diet and get light exercise to make sure your body and mind are healthy and happy.
The important supplements I would recommend you, especially during your first trimester of pregnancy are Vitamin B, Folic Acid, Vitamin D, Iron, Calcium and Iodine.
The above mentioned supplements are important for making your baby grow healthy and to reduce the possibility of any intrauterine of foetal defect.
When you buy vitamin and mineral supplements, make sure that they are prenatal supplements, because they differ from normal supplements because prenatal vitamins typically contain more folic acid (helps prevent neural tube defects) and iron ( supports the baby's growth and development) than do standard adult multivitamins and they do not contain vitamin A, which is considered teratogenic (predispose of defects) in high amounts, but this doesn't mean you have to stop foods which contain vitamin A, al contrary.

Hope I helped with my answer. Feel free to ask again for further concerns.

Wishing you and your baby a healthy live,
Dr. Ina
