Is It Safe To Take Tramadol To Relieve Abdominal Pain?

I am waiting for hip replacement surgery (April 6). I have been taking Arthrotec, but my stomach can no longer tolerate it. Today I have been taking acetomenaphen which really doesn t take away the pain. I am thinking about taking tramadol to provide some pain relief at night. Is there a problem with mixing these two pills?

I can understand your concern. Tremadol is an opioid analgesic drug and the drug is one of good analgesic drug used for muscular and visceral pain conditions. Acetaminophen is paracetamol and the drug is a safe drug for relief of pain. If the drug is not working to relieve the pain then Tremadol can be taken on SOS basis. But remember that Tremadol is highly addictive substance and it is liable to cause dependence and tolerance. Persistent use might make you addicted to this drug, so use the drug only under supervision of your doctor only. Try to avoid self medicating yourself.

There is no harm in taking Tremadol with Acetoaminophen. Both drugs have no significant drug interactions. Both are safe to use together.
