Is It Safe To Take Tramadol For Back Pain Caused Due To Herniated Discs?

I have 2 herniated discs lower back ortho wants to operate but we are trying pain mgmt. pt after having nerve block injection 10 days ago still no relief. taking new drug tramadol starting today for pain. do you think another nerve block injection can be done soon to try again? how about this drug tramadol I see many bad reviews?

Tramadol is not a good drug to be using for long term. You need to consider other options like a nerve block injection or surgery. There are plenty of side effects with tramadol like low sodium levels, constipation, sedation and mood distrubances. Its a little addictive as well. Please use an nsaid like diclofenac for a few days. Switch to other measures if you are not feeling better or need too many pain meds like diclofenac. Avoid tramadol.
