Is It Safe To Take Redclox And Fluzet While Breastfeeding?
I am a mother of two month baby. Since two days I am suffering from Severe running nose, headache, body ache, soar throat.. I had been to doctor She has given prescription and the medicine names are as follows Redclox DL Fluzet I am seriously scared to take them, if i take them whether its gonna affect me since I breastfeed And my baby ...
1. Redclox DL [Amoxicillin and dicloxacillin], as Amoxicillin is the preferred drug in pregnancy and breast feeding thus you can consume it safely.
2. since breast feeding interact with dicloxacillin [dicloxacillin is found in breast milk] so ask with your doctor about the possible risks to your baby and ask for plain Amoxicillin
3. The cough suppresant fluzet [dextromethorphan] is considered safe during breast feeding since neither the excretion of dextromethorphan in milk nor its effect on breastfed infants have been studied and It is unlikely that with usual maternal doses amounts in breastmilk would harm the nursing infant, especially in infants over 2 months of age
