Is It Safe To Take Dulera For Sore Throat And Blisters On Tongue?

My doctor recently changed my Asthma medication from Advair to Dulera. I've had a sore throat and swollen glands for a week and blisters on my tongue and sides of my lips. Could Dulera be causing this? I've also had increased fluid retention and irritation in my sinuses.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of sore throat, swollen glands along with blisters in mouth and irritation of sinuses seems to be due to infection leading to Pharyngitis, Sinusitis and Apthous Ulcers..
It can also be due to side effect of the new asthma medication but seems more like infection..
I would however suggest you to consult your treating physician and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and also advise throat swab culture along with blood tests to confirm the cause..
In case of infection you can be advised a course of antibiotics, pain relievers, decongestants, warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
You can also be advised to do saline nasal irrigations..
Take vitamin B complex for mouth ulcers and also gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..

In case of side effect of the changed drugs, changing the drug and advising the previous drugs that were compatible can relieve the symptoms..

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
