Is It Safe To Take Clarithromycin For Abscess In The Tooth?

My husband has had really bad toothache for 24 hours, he had Dihydrocodeine painkillers when he came out of hospital following bypass surgery but this won t touch this pain. He now has the shakes and I think he has an infection/abscess in the tooth. I have some clarithromycin antibiotics, can he take these as can t get to the dentist until tomorrow.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your query I would like to tell you that CLARITHROMYCIN SHOULD NOT AT ALL BE GIVEN TO HEART PATIENTS AS IT HAS SEEN TO CAUSE SEVERE HAZARDOUS EFFECTS INCLUDING DEATH due to cardiac arrest generally known as heart attack in case of heart patients.

I would suggest you to consult your cardiologist as well as dentist before giving him any antibiotics.

You can wait till the time you consult an expert to take any medicine for dental abscess as well as your should not delay consulting a dentist soon as heart patients are susceptible to bacterial infection in heart from a dental infection known as Bacterial Endocarditis.

Although it is not necessary for all the patients to get infected but precaution is always better than cure..

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
