Hallow Dear, Calpol is a paracetamol preparation which is safe during pregnancy. However, no medicine should be taken during pregnancy, particularly during first 3 months of pregnancy without an Obstetrician s advise. Self medication should be avoided during pregnancy. It will; help to bring down your fever. However, you have to find out the cause of the fever - whether it is viral infection or bacterial infection. Depending on it the decision for only paracetamol or additional antibiotics will have to be taken. Moreover, some viral infections during pregnancy are quite notorious for the baby. Hence, please report to your Obstetrician before you take any medicine. Do consult a doctor - Obstetrician and Gynaecologist only before taking any medicine.
