I have never taken ativan but was prescribed it because of some recent panic attacks.I am nervous to take it as I have never taken medication before (I;m 33).What can I expect? How fast does it work and how long will I generally feel the affects?

Dear thanks for the question.

If I were your doctor I would have prescribed you ativan after complete assessment of your condition. And i am sure your doctor must have done detailed assessment of your health, so you must take medicine. Regarding the expected outcomes you will find improvement in your health (panic attacks). You might have to take it little longer however treating doctor is best person to tell about the duration .you need to take as per the prescription only (2 to 3 mg/day) as over dosage can lead to problems. Over dosage of this medicine leads to sedation. Avoid this tablet in depressed status.

Finally I would advise you to take medicine as per prescribed by your doctor.

I hope i have clarified your queries. Do write for follow up questions. I wish you good health. Thank you. Please provide feedback.
