Is It Safe To Take Alphadopa To Control BP During Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 14 week pregnant and my doctor has advised me to take alphadopa one tablet daily for full 9 months. My current BP is 80/120. My doctor is saying that its a very low dose and it will help to control BP throughout pregnancy.. What should I do?? I wanted to have a second opinion

ALPHADOPA contains METHYLDOPA.It has the longest safety record in treating hypertension in pregnancy.
It is totally safe and is around there to treat hypertension for many many years.
There won't be any harm to you or your child due to this medicine.
You have to keep taking the medicine for your entire pregnancy period.
Your doctor is absolutely right and carry on with his instructions.
