Is It Safe To Take Advil Along With Sulfatrim?

I have been prescribed sulfatrim for a UTI. I am on the second day of a 7 day course and I am experiencing really painful burning and a real urgency to urinate, symptoms which I did not have before. I took a sachet of cymalon to ease the symptoms and had a cool bath. Although they have eased a little they are still there. Is it safe to take advil or another painkiller or will this interact with the sulfatrim?

Brief answer:Yes,Safe.
Detailed answer:There are no significant interactions between advil and sulfatrim.So advil can safely be taken while on sulfatrim if you are not allergic.But for this indication of painful urination,painkillers like advil won't help.Consuming plenty of oral fluids and cymalon(sodium citrate) would be enough to get symptomatic relief.Hope this answers your query.If any further queries,happy to answer you.Take care.
