Is It Safe To Skip A Single Dose Of Birth Control Pill?

Hi, so I am on tri sprintec. yesterday (Tuesday) I lost my birth control pill which I take every night. I then took the Wednesday pill right after I lost the correct pill. What do I do? Do I take Thursday s pill tonight? Do I skip a day and wait? Please get back to me asap

Hello, thanks for posting on HCM.
When on birth control pills, if you miss 1 day pill you should take that dose the next day on same time.
In your case, you missed it on Tuesday, so you should have taken 2 pills on Wednesday at your usual time. Suppose if you have taken only 1 pill on Wednesday, you can take 1 more pill as soon as possible. And continue your Thursday pill as scheduled.
There should not be a gap of more than 1 day in taking pills. If it’s there you should back up the protection with some other methods like condoms etc. in short 2days gap will not be as effective as regular pills schedule.
So you take the Thursday pill tonight and continue 1 pill per day till the pack gets over and start with new pack whenever the previous gets over.
