Is It Safe To Resume Weight Lifting Post Exploratory Laparotomy?

Hi ,I had exploratory laparotomy ,and a 9lb mass removed from my stomach ,along with an appendectomy ,and my right ovary removed. I am now going on 11 weeks since I had the surgery. I ve been cleared to go back to work ,but did not ask my Dr about excersise. I have tried running ,and it seems fine ,but I would really like to get back to lifting weights. I did ab workouts a few days ago ,and now my stomach has an irritating painful pulling pain ,is that normal? Is it safe to resume weight lifting ,if not what is the time recommended until I m able too. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

You need to visit your doctor who performed the surgery and ask him about this. He is the best person to assess your condition as he has performed the surgery and can discuss your recuperation. There is no same answer for everyone when it comes to recovery post surgery. Hope this helps.
