Is It Safe To Quit Cold Turkey?

i take 75mg of metoprolol twice a day, i had an ablation for the second time that fixed my afib, my heart doctor told me today i could quit the metoprolol.
i said cold turkey? and she said yes. i said i read that this can cause problems and she said i should quit looking up meds online. is it safe to quit cold turkey or not?

Halving the dose every third day and stopping over a week is safer…
