Is It Safe To Have Sex While On Tuberculosis Treatment?

What about the sex issue during the therapy of tuberculosis. I heard people say that you can t have sex frequently, you can t have it more than once a week. Is that correct? i have a tbc in my lungs and I don t know how to deal with it. Is it harmful to have sex three times per week for example? Thanks

hello,
i can understand your concern.
tb can affect the genital, in such cases sex is not advised.
you have mentioned that you are having tb of lungs.
sex in any way during the treatment will not be harmful to the person who has it. you need not worry about any effect you might have.
the problem arises for your partner. if you are having symptoms of tb like cough, you will be transmitting the tb bacilli through cough.
this might lead to infecting your partner with the tb bacilli when being intimate.
unless your treating doctor feels you need to be isolated for the treatment,there is no reason for not having sex.
