Is It Safe To Have Low Blood Sugar Levels At The Age Of 70?
I am a diebetic. I have been keeping my blood sugar in order with a pill in the morning and one in the evening. My sugar was 7.5 when I woke up this morning and and the lowest it has been since is 7.0. before lunch it was at 7.8. Is this Ok?
I am 70 years old and active in many ways. I am around 70 kilos and around 177 cms tall
The blood sugars you have reported are good values for your age. Do you get any symptoms like sweating, heart racing or the shakes when your sugar goes below normal? At your age it is not good for it to go below 6mmol/l because you may have a condition called hypoglycemia unawareness. Have you had a HbA1c done any time in the last 3 months. If you could let me know the value, I would be able to comment on how good your overall diabetes control is. Wish you good health Dr. Noble Zachariah.
