Is It Safe To Have IUD To Prevent Pregnancy?

iam 52 years old woman.i have sex with my husband thrice a week. he uses condom everytime when we have sex. now he wants to stop using condom. iam still getting my periods regularly. can i fix iud for having safe sex. last year i aborted when i was two months pregnant.

Iud is safe for contraception. But contraceptive method for a perticular woman can be decided only after proper h/o taking becoz every method of contraception have its own indication and contraindication which must be rule out before selecting a method of contraception.
