Is It Safe To Give Cefixime For Green Watery Stools To A Baby?

My son is 5 months old and is doing green watery poop for last 2 weeks . His Stool routine report is showing pus cells 8-10 and RBC 2-3 .His culture is not showing any growth of bacteria. Doctor has prescribed cefixime 3.5 ml 2 times a day . Pl. advise if this medicine is safe for the baby .

Hi, welcome to HCM.
Your child has, green watery loose stools and there are 8-10 pus cells and 2-3 RBC, this clearly indicates stomach infection.
The drug of choice at this age for stomach infection is cefixime. Also, a prebiotic like enterogermina ampule needs to be given PO once a day to increase gut immunity.
You should also need to feed the child regularly to prevent dehydration.
