Hello:
Azilect is used to control Parkinson's Disease symptoms (slow movement and tremor, basically). If you discontinue it, you could be suffering from those symptoms.
Some antidepressants can interact with azilect, increasing serotonin levels up to a critical level, causing potentially life threatening reactions as
serotonin syndrome (agitation, restlessness, diarrhea, tachycardia,
hallucinations, hyperthermia, nausea and vomiting,
hyperreflexia, hypertension), or
neuroleptic malignant syndrome (rigidity, diaphoresis, dyspnea, dysphagia, gait abnormalities, hyperthermia, incontinence, pallor, drooling, delirium, stupor or even coma).
I suggest consulting with your
neurologist and talk about it, maybe the doctor can adjust your treatment, choosing another kind of drug for Parkinson's Disease, or maybe (If there is no other choice) choose the right antidepressant for you.
I hope this helps, if you have any doubt before your appointment, please let me know.
