Is It Safe Of Taking MTP Procedure?
hi I had a baby 8 months back..I just used a home pregnancy test yesterday and it came out positive....I visited my doc today and she checked and advised that the pregnancy is just 1 week or so old...I am going in for the MTP procedure now...is it safe?

It is safe to undergo a termination of pregnancy if you do not want to continue this pregnancy.
At this stage of pregnancy, you can terminate it by medicines. Tab. Mifepristone 200 mg followed by Tab. Misoprostol 800 micrograms after 24-48 hours are quite effective to terminate the pregnancy up to 9 weeks of gestation.
These medicines are not over the counter medicines and should be taken only with Obstetrician's advice and under supervision to avoid complications.
However, if this method fails (which is very rare), there is a risk of developmental abnormality in the baby. Hence, once these medicines are taken, the decision of termination of pregnancy should not be reverted to continuation of pregnancy. In case of failure of these medicines, the pregnancy should be terminated by evacuation of the uterus. In your case, it can be done be MVA syringe.
I advise to confirm the completeness of abortion by ultrasonography.

Yes it is safe to take procedure.
But it should be under the supervision of the gynecologist as it is illegal.
So talk with doctor and undergo for MTP.
Following are the detail of procedure
Take mifepristone 600 mg orally.
After taking it, take Two tablet of misoprostol 200 mg orally.
And another two tablet 200 mg should be put in vagina.
Bleeding will be occur with in 4-7 days after putting tablet.
You should also undergo the USG to know the incomplete abortion.
If it is incomplete, it needed minor surgery to remove it.
