Hi monica,
Teenage persons ca have heart problem or heart attach but etiology varies in case children and young persons it is congenital heart disease, rythm disturbances, infection are few major causes but in adults Ischemic heart disease is major cause. I f have only one episode of pain it may be musle spasm, but if you have constant stabing pain it indicates pericardial pathology like pericarditis and require detail evaluation by cardiologist.
Take care
