Is It Possible That UTI Also Leads To Fever, Diarrhea And Stomach Ache?

Started with stomach ache and fever a week ago. Took her to ER. Tested for flu, strep, urine sample, chest x-ray. Sent home assuming it was a virus. 2 days later she still had fever, diarrhea with mucus, a little blood, kind of like coffee grains only lighter brown, stomach ache and muscle aches. Urine sample was negative, they swabbed her anus, and we sent that and another urine sample and stool sample to the lab. She has a UTI. I'm sorry, but I don't see how a UTI caused all those symptoms. We're still waiting to hear from the other tests. She is doing better, but still has a stomach ache and light brownish orange coffee grain looking stool. I'm really worried that something else is wrong. No more fever for the last 4 days.

Hi. Thanks for a good history.
Yes, both the infections of intestinal tract and urinary tract can co-exist and fortunately most of the medicines will work on both simultaneously.
Stomach ache, fever and diarrhea, muscle aches suggested for intestinal infection. One can have UTI too.
If there is no fever for the last 4 days , there looks nothing to worry about . Continue the medicines, stomach ache and stool will improve.
