Is It Ok To Give Advent Syrup For Throat Infection?

Hi My 7yr old daughter has throat infection and fever of 101F. The condition has not become better even after betadine and salt water gargle four times yesterday . Can I now start her on 5ml Advent syrup 228.5mg twice a day for 3 days? I shall make sure she has plenty of curd if I start with this. Thanks

Hello,
It does appear that your daughter would require a course of antibiotic.
Although syrup ADVENT is perfect for her but the Dise should be proper.
5 ml twice a day is very less for her.
Her dose should be calculated on the basis of 25 mg / kg body weight per dose and at least three times day.
Best would be to consult a doctor and then take antibiotic under his guidance.
Thanks
