Is It Normal To Pass Stool Once In Three Days By An Infant?

My 4 week old baby(girl) pass stool once in three days. Is it normal? She was passing stool once per day until 3 week. However now she passes frequent bad smelly flatus (approximately 10 per day). Apart from that she is discomfort (twist) and crying while passing flatus. Sometimes small amount of urine also passes while passing flatus. Are these normal?

Hello,
I can understand your concern for your baby and be assured that i will try my best to solve your query.
I would like to tell you that its absolutely normal and you need not to worry much about your baby. Newborn can pass stool once in a week or 10 times a day also. As far as consistency and colour of stool is normal, you need not to be concerned much.
As far as urine frequency is more than 5 to 6 times a day and baby is feeding well, you should be happy. If baby is passing flatus more frequently and crying during that period, then you can give her syrup colicaid 6 drops 2 times a day before 15 minutes of feeding, which will help in colicky pain and flatulence.
