hi nicole
welcome to health care magic
Third trimester pregnancy can be physically and emotionally challenging. Your baby's size and position may make it hard for you to get comfortable.
As your growing uterus puts pressure on the veins that return blood from your feet and legs, swollen feet and ankles may become an issue.
Fluid retention and dilated blood vessels may leave your face and eyelids puffy, especially in the morning. If you have persistent face or eyelid swelling, contact your gynaecologist.
To reduce swelling, use cold compresses on the affected areas. Lying down or using a footrest may relieve ankle swelling. You might even elevate your feet and legs while you sleep.
good luck for healthy baby and normal delivery take care

Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Aashish Raghu's  Response
Hi Niclole,
Hope you are experiencing a beautiful pregnancy. Regarding your problem, it appears to be mild compression of your Sciatic nerve causing Sciatica, which is common during pregnancy. A remedy will be to make sure you have proper bowel unloading by eating fresh fruits and vegetables and drinking a lot of water. Mild lower back stretching exercises help in reducing pain. If there is any redness and swelling of your leg, it could be infection (Cellulitis) for which you must approach your Doctor immediately.
