Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Persistence of pain at the operated site, swelling and difficulty in walking,Groin pain after a total hip replacement is not considered as normal and is a matter of concern.

Either there could be an underlying infection or loosening of the prosthetic components (which I suspect, as the cause of your symptoms).

A detailed clinical examination, Biochemical investigations, Joint aspirations, radiological parameters etc are needed to establish the cause of your symptoms.

I suggest you to consult your treating surgeon and discuss the issues.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
