Is It Normal To Have Rashes And Acne Due To Chickenpox And Psoriasis?

I am having chicken pox at the age of 37. The first rash appeared 3/4 days ago. Now the poach like portions are turning black. Also, in my face, I have a few acne-like things...pimples with white pass at the top...as if it started to be the poach-like thing but did not and turned into an acne. I have psoriasis.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Chicken pox at the age of 37 yrs warrants an oral antiviral e.g Acyclovir, because the risk of complications resulting from chicken pox is common in adults as compared to children. The rash of chicken pox would dry up/scab within a week or 10 days.

For Acne you need to take an oral antibiotic/anti-inflammatory e.g doxycycline twice daily for 4-6 weeks. Topical antiacne preparations e.g clindamycin for day time application and benzoyl peroxide for night time application would be good enough for acne.

Psoriasis is characterised by red, scaly patches on various body sites, specially extensors e.g knee, elbow, scalp etc

All three conditions can co-exist in any one individual and are not responsible for each other.

take care
regards
