Is It Normal To Have Pieces Of Black Or Tarry Stool?

Hi Dr. Samuel, Thank you for your time, Merry Christmas and God s Blessings be with you. Im just getting over the stomach virus (6 days) and still feeling very tired . When i got sick to my stomach I noticed that pieces of black or tarry stool came up as well. Still having pieces in reg. stool! Is that normal? Thank you and God Bless you Rachelle

Hi...black and tarry stools signify bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract...better get an endoscopy done to identify the source...till then start a ppi...
