Is It Normal To Have Painful And Thick Periods While On Meprate?

Hi I am 31 and unmarried and sexually inactive. I had the problem of reduced periods from few months. My gyny prescribed meprate 10mg for 21 days. After stopping it I got my periods within two days. But these were very uncomfortable. Painful and very thick, dark in colour and less bleeding. Is that normal?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

You got period due to withdrawal effect of the Meprate. However, we need to rule out Endometriosis and vaginal infection / PID as you are getting painful thick period.

I suggest you to undergo one pelvic ultrasound scan to rule out any uterine pathology. Review with test report or consult with your doctor for next level treatment.

Hope, I have answered your query. Maintain genital hygiene properly. Good luck and take care.
