Is It Normal To Have Excessive Sweating While Taking Simvastatin?

I've been taking Simvastatin for several years. 20 mgs @ night. Especially in the summer I find that I perspire a lot even if I"m sitting at my desk working. My hair gets quite wet around the hair line. One day my granddaughter asked me if I had just washed my hair. I lied and said yes. but I hadn't. when I told this to my doctor last summer she said maybe I should just move to Arizona. Mary Lou Marsston

UNDERSTANDING YOUR CONCERN.

Thanks for your query .The condition you mention in your query is known to be the side effect of simvastatin.But it very rare sife effect of this cholesterol lowering medicine.This side effect is specially reported in persons with age around 60 and which are on medications like aspirin.

I would suggest you to consult you doctor again ,so that he/she can prescribe you some substitute ,alter dose or treat your condition.

You should also start using some home remedies to lower you cholesterol level like using indian goose berry (only under expert advice) and you can also avoid food containing cholesterol, so that you can reduce you medicine dose easily after doctor's advice.

For now you can use topical antiperspirant .
