Is It Normal To Have Dents In Shin Bone Post Injury?

Hello, 7 years ago I took a nasty fall on stairs and injured my shin. Basically my left shin hit the stair across ways and I had a nasty bruise that lasted years. Even now the area is still darker. But my question is regarding the shin bone, when I touch it there are obvious dents in the area of the injury, in a particular spot it feels like a hard marble. I m pretty sure it s been there since the injury. Is this normal? Thanks
