Is It Normal To Have Accumulated Fluid In Abdomen Post Ventral Hernia Surgery?

After having open ventrial hernia surgery had swelling and excessive fluid, red, shiny and warm to touch one month after surgery. Is this common? Will this go away? Should this be extracted? How long should this fluid last. It feels tight around the area too. The surgeon wants to wait and see what happens, it will be one month tomorrow.

Get it examined by same surgeon who have operated. It can be postoperative infection. May need systemic antibiotic and analgesic antiinflamatory.
