Is It Normal To Feel Electric Shocks While Having Sex?

I have experienced electric shocks while having sex. Missionary position to be exact. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and it has scared me a bit. It's almost as I get shocked and it goes through the whole umbilical cord. It only last around 2 seconds, but it startles me. Is this normal? I might be putting too much pressure on the belly while I'm on top. Thank you.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
Nerve sensitivity is increased during pregnancy owing to increased vascularity and this could be the reason for perception of this sensation. Please see that you do not put pressure on your uterus or cervix. It is also advisable to avoid intercourse totally during the last trimester and to reduce the frequency during the mid-trimester. Not only is there the risk of pressure but also the genital tract is more vulnerable to infections during pregnancy and this needs to be taken care of. Hope this helps.
