Is It Normal To Be Tired After Only Being Awake For 12 Hours?

Hello, I always seem to be very exhausted no matter what I'm doing during the day after being awake for 12 hours. By the 12 hour I'm ready to go to bed and sometimes feel ill and dizzy. Is it normal to be this tired after only being awake for 12 hours. Thank you in advance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Fatigue at 12 hours is not abnormal particularly if the 12 hours were busy but feeling ill and dizzy does not normally occur.

Regarding those symptoms, you may need to be assessed by your doctor.

This assessment may include a comprehensive review of all of your symptoms, examination and investigations.
Investigations such as complete blood count, diabetes screening, thyroid function test, may be included.

I hope this helps
